Obviously, now that I know there's a second series, that's not going to last forever. It made me feel like what they achieved in this series was going to give them a moment of respite. Newt: Totally insane and absolutely awesome.Įpilogue: I liked that the author added an epilogue that gave me a glimpse into their future. Except for the brief moment when he was letting his pride rule the roost, I loved his character. Jenks is a great husband, father, and friend, but he's also great at what he does-a warrior, protector, and detective. Honestly, Jenks and Al are at the top of my list. Jenks: One of my favorite characters in the series. I was happy that she was a large part of this one. That said, I wish we had seen a little bit more of her. Even though I wasn't a fan of Nina's, I do like that Ivy got her HEA. She never lied about who she was, and cared not just about Rachel, but about not wanting to hurt anyone. Ivy: I always liked Ivy, even at the beginning. Their relationship was definitely a sloooooooow burn and an excellent example of the enemies-turned-lovers trope. So I was happy with how everything worked out in that respect.

But I do like how Harrison worked everything out and I love that Trent grew to at least respect (if not love-but that's debatable) Al as much as Rachel. I wasn't so thrilled with Rachel and Trent at first, and I really hoped that it was going to be Al. I'm looking forward to diving into that series, although of course, it's not complete! I didn't realize until after I read this that Harrison started a new series that takes place many years after this series (but same people). This was a very satisfying conclusion to the first series that takes place in The Hollows.
